Literature Text

kageyama x reader

The sudden, distinct noise of a ‘thunk’ against wood startled you slightly, pulling you from your concentration; your textbook soon laid abandoned as you raised your head slowly in confusion.

Pausing for a moment, your brows furrowed together before you slowly turned around to face the source of the unexpected sound; only for an amused smile to soon replace your questioning look, and you sunk your teeth into your lower lip in an attempt to bite back your laughter at the most fortuitous view you'd ever been greeted with.

There, behind them, sat Kageyama in all of his glory-

All of his snoozing glory.

His head rested heavily on top of his worksheet, having completely slipped from his palm.  His hand, by then, fully extended out in front of him, his fingers twitching slightly; just barely grazing your shoulder as you slouched in your chair.  Disheveled tufts of black hair fell around his face without care, and soft snores began falling from his parted lips seconds later.

You swore, you had never seen anything so… precious.

Your grin widened as you took in such a delightful sight, eyes tracing over every feature of his relaxed countenance, making sure to memorize every line and crinkle and detail that resided in his skin.

The sun rays poured in from the front windows to your right, bathing you both in a comforting glow that left behind waves of warmth against your skin.  A crease formed between his eyes as he shifted ever-so-slightly, taking in a large breath of air.

Looking back to the forefront of the classroom, you checked for any signs of the teacher having caught him sleeping in the middle of a lesson.  Seeing none, you really had to appreciate how lucky it was to be placed at the back of the class.  You took one last quick glance at the dozing boy, before turning back to their own paper, and leaning forward to both regain focus and give the sleepy setter some space to nap.

Before the tip of your pencil could even reach the work sheet, a large hand landed right atop your left shoulder, and gently but firmly began guiding you back against your seat, sighing as he whispered just loud enough for only you to hear him.

“Stay.” he sighed.

Lively hues fluttered back to him once again, meeting his own royal ones as they fluttered open. He still hadn’t moved an inch from his spot, aside from the hand that still held onto your shoulder.  Slowly, he let his hand fall, lazily tracing the soft fabric of your folded sleeve until he reached the crook of your elbow, and tugged your arm back his way, to slouch in your chair again.  His nimble fingertips began descending once more, raising goosebumps along your forearm in the process, only just grazing your skin.

“Thank you.” Long, slender fingers interlocked with yours in a gentle grasp as his hand reached your own, and softly squeezed your smaller hand in silent appreciation.

With that, his heavy eyes fell shut again, and he was back to snoring quietly against his half-finished paper.

You couldn’t focus on your work after that- too occupied by the warmth that emanated from his tender hold on your hand.  The tickle of his mellow breathing against the base of your neck.  The way he became just so damn affectionate when he was exhausted like this.

Kageyama had never been too educated when it came to the subject of social norms, and interacting with others; as such, he’d never been one for PDA, not surprisingly.  But that didn’t mean he never had his moments; moments like these.  They were rare- but you had found that that's what made them all the more special.  It helped you to always hold them close to your heart.

So you let yourself relax completely in your seat, thumbing circles onto the back of his hand.  He hummed with approval, sluggishly moving from his hiding spot behind you.  A lazy smirk soon adorned his features and his snarky attitude returned momentarily.

”It's certainly easier to sleep when the sun isn't shining right over my eyes."

And just like that, he’d opened his mouth, and shattered your small moment; as usual.

To this, you could only smile and let out a breathy chuckle, shaking your head lightly.

hey, sorry to bother you again, but I guess in this sentence lies the problem. If you write "she turned" I assume she's looking to the side (but maybe that's my foreign brain) but if you wrote something like "she turned around" it would make more sense. plus you could Change this sentence too: "There sat Kageyama in all of his glory-" how about "At the desk directly behind her sat Kageyama in all his glory"
just an idea, but it would make things easier to understand. all the love
